Definition
The Christian funeral is a worship service in which God's people witness to the hope of the gospel, the communion of saints, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.
Policy
It is a policy of Grace Lutheran Church to provide Funeral services to our membes only, with exceptions made with Pastor's approval. Also with Pastor's approval another ordained L.C.C. Pastor may assist in the service.
How To Begin
Please call the Church office at 522-7621, the Church secretary will have the Pastor contact you. Call the funeral home of your choice.
Bulletin
It would be appropriate at this time to make an appointment with the Church secretary to choose a cover of your choice for the bulletin.
Service
As it is a time to worship the true and living God and to bring comfort to the hearts of those who mourn, we gather primarily to worship God.
Eulogies are not discouraged, but are to be short and not distract our focus on Christ as the author and finisher of our faith.
At Grace Lutheran we provide a Christian service which includes a short graveside service with prayers. We do not recommend a garveside service only.
The service can be scheduled for any day Monday thru Saturday. We avoid the Lord's Day as to keep it sacred to the Lord.
Music
The music shall reflect the nature of the funeral service and must be approved by the Pastor. A Church organist will be available if requested for the nominal fee of $50.00.
