In 1529 when Vienna was attacked by the mighty Ottoman Empire, Luther's response to that crisis was to PRAY! To pray an ancient prayer of the Church: The Litany. And the Lord answered. We look at both that history, the Litany, and prayer for the crises of our own time.
Later, when Western Europe was again threatened by prayerful "Lord, Keep Us Steadfast in Your Word."
When we think of the prayers of Luther set to song, none might be more important than "O Lord, Look Down From Heaven Behold" based on Psalm 12.
All of these are examined in this interesting study by Pastor David Haberstock, which was presented to the Lutheran Women's Missionary League Zone Renewal at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, on October 13, 2018.
Attached are the study handouts, and the audio of that presentation.
